I'm glad I stopped by for the review this morning, over this side of the Atlantic we're only on episode 3 but I was convinced I'd missed at least 2 episodes watching it last night, what a sure fire way to alienate any viewers dropping by who are undecided on a show. I'm not surprised to see it ended up cancelled. It has quickly got moved from a 9pm slot to an 11pm slot after just 3 episodes here.

I will agree the presentation was better this episode...but the writing was about as bad as ever.

This entire season, Jamie has been worried about her sister Becca, and having to get back home in time, and no wanting tot lie to her. Jamie doesn't think to call her once, and was literally gone for days. Number 2...WHY THE HECK DID THEY NEED TO PUT HER IN A DORM? This is so incredibly stupid. She would have had to move all of her stuff, check in with an RA, go through all of these procedures...Simply put...this would have taken days. Pairing an agent up with a roommate was also beyond dumb.

Why not put her off campus? Why not have someone at Berkut do her homework...why make her have to ask her roommate. Berkut could have done the lab and provided her a place to sleep. Was there really even a point of having her go to class? I mean, all she did was try to sneak into the lab anyway. There was no point to being at the class whatsoever. Jamie discovered nothing.

I found this episode completely illogical. Putting her in a dorm...completely forgetting about Becca...and the stuff with the TA was terrible. I love how the TA had a note written out for Jamie two seconds after the professor asked her a question.

I'm not quite sure what to make of it, either. Sarah is far more compelling, and at times, I feel like this is really her story.

Michelle Ryan is attractive enough, but she's not convincing.

Good analysis, John. This show is definitely all over the map. This week my husband and I realized our biggest problem with it is that Sarah is a much more compelling character than Jamie (not to mention that Katee is a stronger actress). We are having trouble mustering interest in Jamie and her problems. This week we were rooting for Sarah to kill Jamie's sister because we hoped it would result in Jamie becoming more interesting (and eliminate some of those annoying side plots at the same time).

We aren't really sure we want to keep watching at this point. We may give it one more week. If we do, I hope we are finally done with the training montages. Cool fight scenes alone does not make for a good show.

This is the wonderful nature of the subjective interpretation. We all react differently to the same material. I know people who hate "Lost" with a passion and think "Smallville" is the epitome of modern storytelling. I happen to see faults with BW, but overall, I think it's just average.

I want to like this show, I really do. however...the writing is unbearable. The show is plain hokey. It feels like a videogame that sometimes wants to be gilmore girls, and other times wants to throw in mindless action that the producers think is cooler than it actually looks. My comment on the review however is your generally high scores for this show.

One of the reasons I love reading your reviews, is because you are generally very "critical". To get a 10 from your site is very hard to accomplish, which is why I like seeing how you praise or bash other shows. Lost for instance was defintely worthy of the 10 you gave for "through the looking glass". However...for this show to be receiving a 7 out of 10 seems uncharacteristic of you. 24 this year had a terrible season, but I can honestly say that there wasn't an episode that was as bad as what i've seen in bionic woman. Yet Bionic woman seems to get higher scores in comparison to shows such as 24. Just my two cents.
